I believe the single most important predictor of successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client. That is why my primary focus in my client’s healing journey is to create an emotional feeling of trust, caring and respect…especially when working with children, adolescents, and families. One way of creating these feelings is by letting my young clients know “I like you just the way you are.”

For the past 30+ years I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and families in multiple capacities; teacher, grief counselor, school counselor, crisis counselor, clinical psychotherapist. I’ve also had the opportunity to design and implement the first in-school psychotherapy program in Waukesha County, 2015-2021. I was also part of a team to train one local school to become a fully certified Trauma Informed School.

My trainings and areas of interest are Trauma and Loss, Grief Counseling, Crisis Counseling. I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Trauma and Loss Specialist, and Client Caseworker trained with the American Red Cross.

Nothing brings me more joy than working with children, adolescents, and families. They are our future!
